CHILE national flower is the copihue also known as bell flower. It grows in forest in the southern part of Chile. Is an evergreen climbing plant reaching up 10 meters, high among trees.

The flowers are red with six petals, the fruit is an edible berry with a lot of small seeds. In the past fruit was sold in markets.

Kolkopiu is the name Mapuche´s  give it.

Victoria regia water lily is the national flower from Guyana. The plant is perennial and its native habitat is tropical.  It grows in four to six feets of water , the base of the stems are situated in mud.From each plant there are four or five leaves.                                             

                                                           mejor hojasThe largest flower can measure 10 inches to one foot in diameter. When first open , they are white with a sweet smell , the second day they are expanded and colour is pink, by the third day they start to wither.

Paraguay´s national flower is the mburucuya or passion fruit. It´s native from South America. At the beginning grows in forest.

The passion fruit is round to oval. The fruit can be grown to eat , or for its juice also is use to make desserts.

The Surinam national flower is the popokai tongo. We couldn´t find information about this flower. We really appreciate if  somebody  can let us know something related to it.
